WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TOASTMASTERS AND PMIW?

PMIW which is PMI Westchester is a chapter under the PMI umbrella. PMIW Toastmasters is a separate club associated with PMIW and under the umbrella of Toastmasters International.

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF PMIW TM?

To become a member, you simply fill out the PMI form and pay your membership dues.
Prorated when you join and paid Biannually thereafter. You can and should reach out to the VP of Membership for help with this.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER REQUIREMENT TO BECOME A TOASTMASTER?

No- most people join to improve their public speaking skills. Willingness to participate in the meetings and enthusiasm will go along way to having a great time and personal leadership improvement.

DO I HAVE TO BE A PMIW MEMBER TO JOIN?

You do not however you do need to be a PMI member (any chapter) if you wish to claim a PDU for your meeting attendance.

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

HOW OFTEN DOES THE CHAPTER MEET?

Club meets once a month on 3rd Tuesday of each month. Meetings are currently virtual via Zoom and in future may be Hybrid as we have members from different geographic locations. Club officers also meet once a month.

WHAT REQUIREMENTS ARE THERE FOR CONTINUING MEMBERSHIP (IE MINIMUM NUMBER OF MEETINGS ATTENDED, OTHER MINIMUMS)?

No minimum requirements however as with most things the more you put into it the more you will get out of it.

OTHER THAN SPEECHES, WHAT ELSE HAPPENS AT A MEETING? IF I DON'T WANT TO GIVE A SPEECH, IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE I CAN DO?

There are other activities such as Table topics questions and answers and speech evaluations as well as quote of the day joke of the day etc. There are many roles available other than giving a speech.

WHAT COACHING OR TRAINING IS AVAILABLE IF I NEED EXTRA HELP?

There is online training via Toastmasters.org and club officers and members are always happy and willing to help in any way they can.
